In order to have a thriving niche marketing business you have to find profitable niche markets. What’s a hot niche market? A hot niche market is a specific group of people who are buying products. Basically, you build your blog around the desires of the market (what they are buying).

So, how do you find a hot niche market? By research, of course!

There are basically three steps to finding hot niche markets:

Brainstorm
Niche markets are every where. Just think about life and what people want or need. Write down everything that comes to mind.

People always want/need money, places to live, to be married, have babies, go on vacations, achievement, improve themselves, cars, boats, food, and the list can go on and on. These are markets…huge ones. Take a look at what people buy online. Go to pulse.ebay.com and Paypal shops. Check out Yahoo Buzz or Yahoo Answers to see what is popular and what questions are being asked.

Keyword Research
For Internet business purposes, keyword research is important because you want to know how many people are searching for the terms used within your market. The more people – the better. Use tools like Google Adwords Keyword Tool and Google Insights to assess volume, competition and trends.

I try to find keywords that are in the middle. They do not have too much volume and competition and they also do not have too little volume and competition. Super long tail keywords are no good just like a high volume broad or general keyword is no good.

Note: If you need help with keyword research, I can help you via The Niche Researcher.

Test
Once you have found a good target market (a lot of interest and people are buying) test the market. One way to test the market is to create a free report. Find out the common questions in the market then answer them in a simple PDF file, create a squeeze page, and give the report away in exchange for emails.

Drive traffic to your squeeze page through a pay per click service. Follow up with your email list and find out what they want.  You might even set up a survey and run it with a pay per click service to find out what people want.

With a little brainstorming power and some research you can find hot niche markets for your niche marketing business with ease.
